We were a wondrous team back then — his speed and strength, my dreaming might.
No height too high, no distant glen, no place we couldn’t reach or find.
Each morning brought a brand-new quest, a world of colors, scents, and song,
a place where friendship shone its best
and loyal love would last so long.
And though our bond has worn so thin,
a tender thread what once was win.
Now I know my prayer to God, Jehovah:
“Oh, please bring back my friend of youth, my steadfast guide on this journey with me.”
